Going through December, we’ve accelerated our pace to give you the best at RepairDesk at the end of 2018. Here is a list of what we’ve completed recently in the last week in our iPad app!

Improvements

“How Did You Hear About Us?”

Now you have an option to add a referral source while adding a customer from iPad POS Register. Similarly, when you hit Checkout from iPad, you will have an option to select a referral from there as well. To make it more convenient for you, if you have selected the referral source while adding a customer, then it will auto-populate on the Checkout screen.

Product Images Download

We have now upgraded our app to have the product images synchronized from the web to the iPad app by using the Synchronize Product Images option from the left side menu.

Once the images are synchronized successfully, they will automatically be downloaded to the iPad app database.

Improved Checkout Process

You will no longer have to delete the zero figures and add the actual amount. Instead, the actual payment amount will automatically be populated on the Checkout screen.

Numeric Keypad for Payment Integration

A few months back, we introduced the numeric keypad in our app to facilitate users in adding payments and numeric values. We have further improved this feature and you will now get the numeric keypad displayed while entering the payment amount using any payment integration method.

Securing Payments through Online Payment Gateways

To maintain the security of data and to prevent unnecessary payments, we have introduced the auto-disabled functionality so that when you have made a payment once through any online payment gateway, that option will be disabled and you will not be able to use any other payment method except cash against that particular ticket.

Auto-Capitalization of Customer’s First Name

While adding customer details on an iPad, the first alphabet will be auto-capitalized for the First Name and Last Name fields.

Validation on Minimum Cash Balance

To make the shift management process easy for our users, we have introduced an additional pop-up which displays an error message in case the closing balance of the shift is less than the minimum required balance that you have set through your RepairDesk web account.

Post Repair Conditions on Customer-Facing Display

Previously, Post Repair Conditions were not displayed on getting customer signatures through the customer-facing display. This has now been improved and you can show the customer both pre- and post-repair conditions before signing the receipt.

Bug Fixes

Updating Item Description in Edit Cart

When a ticket is reopened and edited in cart, users were unable to deselect items and replace them with other items. We have resolved this issue, and you can now deselect any item and replace it with a new item while editing a ticket on an iPad.

Also, it was observed that on reselecting a new item, the item price was updated but its description was not. Now, both the item description and price will be updated in the cart upon editing a ticket.

Displaying Newly Added Items by Category

When a new product is added from the POS in the iPad app, it was displaying in the All Products section on the POS, but was not available by searching through category. Now, you will get the newly added item in both the All Products section and by searching through Category.

Trade-In Loader Removed

Trade-in items were not displayed properly, and users were instead being shown a loader. The issue has been resolved and you will no longer get a loader on the Trade-In screen.
